Partnership Action Plan.

ACTION PLAN 2005-2008

OBJECT 1:

To advance the Christian religion by promoting links between the Kolali Evangelical Church in Cairo Egypt and churches in Glasgow to enable a better understanding of each other’s faith experiences. In furtherance of this object the association shall organise activities to promote sharing of faith experiences.

1] Activities to promote the sharing of faith experiences:

•Visits to and from Cairo by different groups of people.
•Internet use – video conferencing by webcam, website with private chat room, increased use of emails.
•Shared worship and prayer using email/internet.
•Kolali Church to set up group to correspond with the Glasgow group.
•Explore the possibility of a Church Worker from Kolali coming to Glasgow for 3 months to work with appropriate projects or to study.

2] Enabling a better understanding of each other’s faith experiences:

•Joint Bible Study – groups studying the same passage with email/chatroom discussions.
•Sharing issues of faith and culture – child protection issues, Church Without Walls.
•Sharing of resources – books, magazines, DVDs.

OBJECT 2:

To relieve poverty and advance education by raising donations for the provision of educational materials, equipment and school clothing for children of school age in deprived areas of Cairo.

•By supporting projects in Kolali – shoes, school clothing, bags, books for neighbourhood children. Also computer software, sports equipment and access to sporting facilities.
•The visit to Glasgow in 2006 should include training, cultural visits, church visits and mission activities.

FUNDING:

We recognise that being a specifically Christian project limits the number of funders to which we can apply.

Funding from external sources as well as funds raised by KGP will be sought to meet activities proposed in Object 1.

Support of the projects identified in Object 2 will be by contributions and donations from local churches and organisations in Glasgow.
